1) The possibility to request extra meetings will end on April 30, 2013. We encourage you to plan meetings/workshops of your international projects / networks in Basel as well, to limit environmental footprints and project costs. These Side Meetings are independent of the conference, and can not take place August 20-23. 2) HURRY UP: The Swiss TPH Hospitality Platform offers FREE housing in private homes of our Swiss TPH staff. PhD Students and young investigators from low income countries will get preference. The registration through the online platform is only open until Wed, May 7. The availability of accommodations is very limited, therefore: "first-come, first-served". Please register for free housing following this link. All applicants will be informed within 2 weeks whether we were able to assign a host or not, thus, there will be sufficient time to look for other solutions. Please note that the official Basel Hotel reservation site also offers low budget options. 3) The OPEN ACCESS International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health of MDPI publisher - a conference sponsor - just launched a call for papers. Participants of this conference will benefit of a 20% reduction of the Article Processing Charges. 4) More than 1800 submitted abstracts were reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee. Thank you very much for your help! The main authors of all abstracts have been notified about acceptance. Currently, session assignments are being finalized. 5) Thanks to contributions from our sponsors: Swiss Academies of Sciences, Swiss Federal Offices of the Environment and of Health; Basel based Carbotech and MDPI (Publisher of International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health); Swiss based lung and cancer associations; the County of Bern; Concawe; the Health Effects Institute (HEI); and the Taiwan Association for Aerosol Research (Aerosol and Air Quality Research) we are able to launch a PhD student fee waiver program for best scoring abstracts.
